Week 22 : Out of Focus

When you see an out of focus (OOF) image you can either love it or hate it. I personally love them when they’re done right. Not even necessarily on purpose…. just right. Now I know what you’re thinking… how do you know if it’s done right. Is it the composition? Is it that the slice of focus in the right area? Or perhaps is it the soft blur that still has definition and so the whole thing looks like a painting.

I’ll tell you right now it’s none of those things.

It’s done right when it makes you feel something.

This is true for ALL art.

If you nail focus, have great composition and gorgeous models and on and on and on, It doesn’t matter one whit if you don’t feel anything.

Our 52 group has done it again. If you look at all these submissions for this blog you are going to feel something. I guarantee it!
