Week 25 : Shadows
I feel like as photographers we are always looking for light. We’re looking for that golden light, intriguing light, soft, even, dappled…. and the list goes on and on. But while we focus a great deal on light, darkness – the absence of light, is often overlooked. That is unfortunate since darkness – and shadows can be very important.
Shadows can help to direct attention to a specific point in the composition. They can reveal form or hide features that may be better left unseen. They can also be used to add hint of emotion, interest, or mystery to a photo. They can emphasize texture. They can emphasize that light we were looking for. They can daw attention to the highlights, adding drama.
Shadows are so useful and thats why this week we worked on looking for ways to use them creatively.
I hope you love all the gorgeous images submitted this week in our talented group!
