Week 3 : Memory

Memory - now there’s something that takes you back. But imagine you had no memory. What would life look like. Would you be able to learn? Could we even live without memory? I don’t think we could. There would be no Human Race if our brains could’t retain our memories.

But besides keeping us alive and helping us learn, our memory does so much more. It brings smells into meaning. Sometimes I walk in the kitchen and smell my grandmas stew and I’m back to being a little girl listening to how she grew up in the back woods of Louisiana . How my Grandpa would chime in and tell us the story of walking 3 miles barefoot to school (He had to go three times a week).

Memory brings us sorrow. Sorrow for our loved ones who’ve gone and life lost. Memories of babies birthed and friendships gained, hearts brought together… These memories bring us joy. Memories are our lives leading up to now. One day now will be a memory…. What will you do to preserve it?

Here’s what the talented group over at Our 52 did with this weeks theme…. You’re gonna be impressed.
